[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Zielona 7 Gravel is a route with gravel road sections
Mapping this route took us almost three years – the main challenge was the character of the regions between Warsaw and Gdańsk. We did not want to copy the variants that run along the Vistula, and we wanted the route to be as short as possible and easy to ride over a long weekend. We tested many variants, trying to route as much as possible along forest gravel roads. It turned out that a truly “all-gravel” route would be very winding, and some dirt roads were simply unsuitable for smooth and enjoyable riding.
The result is a compromise between paved and gravel roads, based on a few principles:
- If someone looks for a ready-made track, it is precisely to avoid riding across fields or pushing through bushes.
- The route is easy to ride fast – gravel sections alternate with asphalt. Where an unpaved alternative is unattractive, the track follows the asphalt.
- The unpaved sections are generally of good quality – in most cases you can keep at least 15 km/h.

Start
The route starts at Plac Bankowy in Warsaw – every year we set off from here in a big group. Nearby you will find the TravelBike bicycle service, where you can sort out any problems before you go. You can also rent a bike there.
Waymarking
The route is not signposted. Occasionally you will see “Zielona 7” or “Zielona 7 – Gravel” stickers by the road, but stickers tend to disappear or fade, and we try not to clutter the landscape – so you need to rely on navigation.
How to navigate?
We recommend the mapy.cz app – the track package includes a link that opens the route directly in the app on your phone. Phones drain quickly with GPS on, so consider a Garmin-type device or a large power bank.
Which bike?
The route is rideable on MTB, trekking and of course gravel bikes. We recommend tyres at least 35 mm wide; because of the long paved sections, very wide tyres may slow you down too much.
Accommodation
See our accommodation map. You can also sleep in the forest – there are several places on the route where wild camping is fully legal under the Polish “Zanocuj w lesie” (Sleep in the Forest) programme.
When to go
You can ride the route in autumn or winter too. If you are planning a holiday, think about getting back from the Tricity and about heavy afternoon traffic around Warsaw – especially on Friday after 4 pm. Taking a bike on a Sunday train from Gdańsk can be difficult; Monday is much easier.
You can modify Zielona 7 freely to suit your needs. Before you set off, download the GPS tracks and read the essential information on our website.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”5626″ img_size=”500×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”5628″ img_size=”500×500″ alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”download GPS tracks” style=”3d” color=”green” size=”lg” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftravelbike.pl%2Fzielona7gravel%2F||target:%20_blank|”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
